Door motors for sliding door climbers

One type of sliding door motor is the single phase model, which is what most people think of when they picture a door motor. They consist of a winding drum capable of rotating on only one axis. Single phase doors are generally not too powerful, but are powerful enough to move normal sized doors with ease.

Two-phase motors are slightly more powerful, but not as powerful as single-phase motors. It doesn't have to use two batteries to start, and they do need more than one. The price difference between two-phase and single-phase motors may vary for different suppliers. If you have a very heavy door that slides up and down, you may find this more than adequate.

One advantage of interlocking door drive motors is that the door does not require any moving parts to move. These motors consist of a series of meshing gears, the teeth themselves being very smooth. An interlock feature ensures that there is no tilt in the gears. Tilting will cause a delay in closing the gate, which may defeat the purpose of the sliding gate motor.
